My teaching philosophy centre around the following beliefs, values and practices:

To focus on each child's unique learning style and strengths. My goal is to provide an environment centred on OPENNESS where both tutor and child feel valued, RESPECTED and MOTIVATED to engage.

To foster active learning, critical thinking, ORIGINALITY, INQUISITIVENESS and creative expression through projects, discussions, questioning and experimenting with open ended tasks.

To establish an environment of mutual RESPECT and psychological safety.  This approach emphasises the OBSERVATION of children's interests and internal being, using that information to collaboratively build knowledge and TRUST through UNDERSTANDING, empathy, consistency and non - judgmental interactions.

To develop positive relationships and TEAMWORK between all parties involved in a child's learning process.

To engage children to REFLECT on their learning experiences, set goals and identify areas for improvement.  This practice helps them to take ownership of their education and become self- directed learners.

To foster a GROWTH mindset where children are encouraged to view challenges as opportunities for GROWTH and to persist in the face of difficulties.

To use NATURE as a 'co - educator' to guide curiosity, and to develop an understanding of the natural world we live in.
