About Us - Rebecca Smith

Welcome to Moor Tutoring - My name is Rebecca Smith and I am a qualified teacher with an Enhanced DBS certificate and up to date safeguarding training, SENCO and I have previously been a Head Teacher.  I have 28 years of experience in Primary Education and have also led and managed a successful school nursery.

I started teaching in 1997 and have taught in all age groups from 2 to 11.

Since I started teaching I have been a Deputy Head for 9 1/2 years in two different schools and a Head Teacher for 11 years in a rural, village location with two successful Ofsteds during my time there. For the past 5 years I have been a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Leader (SENCO) alongside my Headship. I have also been a safeguarding officer and the Designated Teacher for Children in Care for many years.

I am a member of The Tutor Association (TTA) and the Out of School Alliance. I wholeheartedly support the TTA's Code of Practice.   My policies and risk assessments for the varied range of services that I provide have been created by either The Tutor Association or the Out of School Alliance.
